The Stephen Petronio Company closed out its 25th Anniversary season with a series of performances at New York City's Joyce Theater including the world premiere of Ghost Town, set to an evocative and powerful score by Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood.  Greenwood’s string orchestra work Popcorn Superhet Receiver features luscious swells of strings and unsettling dissonances as the piece's unabated tension brings to mind the music of Krzysztof Penderecki. Stephen Petronio’s ‘Ghostown’ conveys a sense of loss and mystery. It's made up of fragments of experience no longer capable of living. It's slightly weird and, yes, haunting.
