Five Points

Jillian Lewis looked close to home for inspiration for this collection - Long Island City to be exact.  When Jillian looked out her studio window, she saw railroad lines, graffiti and a hazy New York skyline.  The graffiti print drew reference from a famous abandoned building called Five Points that was a spray paint shrine (now torn down, a high rise residential building stands in its place). The print was custom made: graffiti art was layered over Georgia O’Keefe water color paintings to create the effect.

This collection balanced Jillian’s Edwardian sensibility with edgier touches like puzzle piece pants with organic shapes and sheer panels and cable knit patterns meant to mimic railroad tracks. The mood was dark and sexy, glamourous and bohemian, boldly romantic, 30’s meets 70’s.
